Discover the wetland habitats of inner Melbourne and learn about the birds that live there. Meeting at the Alphington Wetlands, we’ll learn about the practice and principles of ethical birding and how this activity can be incorporated into daily life. This family-friendly experience will help you connect with nature and deepen your understanding of the local ecosystem and the many bird species who share our urban home.

If you have binoculars, please bring them along. We will have some to borrow/share if you do not.

This event is being held in partnership with Mappa Outdoor.

We kindly ask that you do NOT bring dogs along to this event. They can unintentionally disturb the birds and and impact the experience for other attendees.

We’ll meet south of the oval at Alphington Park, on the grass near the intersection of View Street and Lucerne Crescent. There is street parking available on both View St and Lucerne Cresc as well as parking bays across the oval on Parkview Road.

Please bring:

Comfortable walking shoes, raincoat, water bottle. binoculars (if you have them - we will have some to borrow if you do not)
