All About Plastic

Yarra Riverkeeper Association

Join Peter Goad and Dr Ross Headifen for an informative morning at the Abbotsford Convent, talking all things plastic.
Peter has long-term experience in the recycling industry including managing a plastics recycling factory. His session will cover the properties of polymers and you'll get a better understanding about how plastics are made, different types of plastics, and how they're recycled.
Ross, director of Plastic Waste Solutions and co-runner of Beach Patrol will delve into the differences of landfill biodegradable plastics, compostible plastics and oxodegradable plastics and will highlight which of these have the smallest ecological footprint.
The information session will be followed by a Q and A.
If you have any plastic related questions in the meantime, please forward them to eduofficer@yarrariver.org.au and they will be answered at the event.
Look forward to seeing you there!
