AI for Content Creation

A 6-Week, Face-to-Face Introduction to AI Using Content Creation
2 hours per week | Beginner-friendly | Practical | No Experience Required

Curious about AI but not sure where to start?

This 6-week, in-person foundation course is designed to help people understand what AI is, how it works, and how it can be used in everyday life — using content creation as a practical, relatable starting point.

It’s a supportive, community-based introduction for people who want to build confidence with AI, explore what’s possible, and learn in a face-to-face environment without pressure or technical overwhelm.

You don’t need to be “techy”.
You don’t need a business.
You just need curiosity.

What this course is about

This course focuses on exploration, understanding, and confidence-building.

You’ll learn how to interact with AI in a clear, ethical, and practical way, while staying firmly in control of your ideas, voice, and decisions.

It is not about becoming an expert or producing perfect content.
It is about learning enough to feel comfortable and capable moving forward.

What you’ll explore over 6 weeks

Over the course, you’ll learn how to:

  • Understand what AI is (and what it isn’t) in plain English
  • Use tools such as ChatGPT and Canva in simple, guided ways
  • Turn ideas, thoughts, and experiences into written content
  • Improve clarity, tone, and structure in your writing
  • Create simple visuals to support your words
  • Explore ethical and responsible use of AI
  • Build confidence to keep experimenting beyond the course

Each session includes time to practise, ask questions, and learn together.

How the sessions run

Each weekly session includes:

  • Short, beginner-friendly explanations
  • Live demonstrations
  • Guided, hands-on practice
  • Time to ask questions (there are no silly ones)
  • Support in a welcoming, non-judgemental environment

Learning happens during the session — not just as “homework”.

Who this course is for

This course is ideal for:

  • People curious about AI and what it can do
  • Community members wanting to build digital confidence
  • Professionals and volunteers in any field
  • Creatives, writers, and lifelong learners
  • Anyone who wants a safe, practical starting point with AI

No prior experience with AI is required.

What this course is not

To set clear expectations, this course:

  • Is not an advanced or technical AI program
  • Is not a business or marketing strategy course
  • Is not focused on performance, optimisation, or productivity targets

The focus is on understanding, confidence, and possibility.

What to bring

  • A laptop (or use one of the Community Centre laptops)
  • Curiosity and questions

Free versions of the tools used will be explained and supported during the course.

Ethical use of AI

This course includes discussion about responsible and ethical use of AI, transparency, and where human judgement matters most. AI is presented as a support tool, not a replacement for people.

A gentle invitation

AI can feel intimidating — especially if you’re not sure where you fit in the conversation.

This course offers a calm, practical, face-to-face starting point, helping you understand what’s possible and decide what you’d like to explore next.
