AI: After Hours
Your weekly meet up and build club for all things AI at UNSW.
Come for AI, stay for the community.
Building things can be lonely: especially in a field that moves as fast as AI. Whether you’re stuck on a line of code, buzzing with a new idea or just curious about what "LLM" even stands for, we’re saving a seat for you.
AI After Hours is a weekly gathering at the Michael Crouch Innovation Centre for anyone who wants to explore the future in good company. This isn't a formal class or a high-pressure pitch deck session; it’s a friendly space to learn, share and grow together.
Join Us:
- When: Every Tuesday, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
- Where: The Michael Crouch Innovation Centre (MCIC)
- Who: Everyone is welcome. No matter your degree, your background or your skill level.
- Bring: A laptop, your questions and all your energy!
Focused Hour (6:00 PM – 7:00 PM)
The second hour of each session will feature an Focused AI Hour to learn or discuss a specifically curated topic. See topics for upcoming sessions below:
- Feb 10: TBC
- Feb 17: National AI Plan : where Australia is headed and the role we all play in it.
What to expect:
- A Supportive Community: Meet friendly faces who are just as curious as you are.
- A Helping Hand: If you want to build something but feel overwhelmed, don't worry. We have a "Library of Ideas" to help you get started and plenty of people to chat through the "how-to" with you.
- The Space to Focus: Life is busy. Use this time as your dedicated weekly "creative hour" to work on that project you’ve been dreaming about.
- Real Conversations: Beyond the screens, we talk about the why behind AI—how it affects our world and how we can use it for good.
We can't wait to see what you're working on (or help you figure out what to start!).
