About this event

With the ongoing updates in the Aged Care Reforms, it can be a challenge for Aged Care providers to keep up to date! To ensure your organisation is a step ahead, we invite you to join us for an engaging series on the Aged Care Reforms in 2023-2024.

Paul Sadler will be presenting each session with the latest information on the aged care reforms and their applicability to home support services. We will focus on the practical implications of the reforms for providers.

In the first session in July, the focus will be on the Department of Health & Aged Care’s plans for the Support at Home Program, the assessment trials currently underway and the proposals for regulatory reform.

Facilitated by Paul Sadler.

Paul Sadler has a unique range of experience from more than 35 years in aged care and related fields. This includes periods as CEO of a major aged care provider, leader of aged and community care peak associations, manager of ageing policy and disability and community care programs for a state government, and social worker with older people, people with disabilities and their carers.

Paul owns the business Paul Sadler Consultancy. He is the Independent Chair of Meals on Wheels Australia and a Director of Meaningful Ageing Australia.

Supported by The Multicultural Network, Macarthur Disability Services & Liverpool City Council.

Please note: registration is open to aged care providers who deliver CHSP services. If your organisation does not provide a CHSP service your registration will be reviewed.

This workshop is funded by The Department of Health and Aged Care. Registration for this event is free for CHSP Service Providers. In the event that you need to cancel please advise in writing via email to sectorsupport@mdservices.com.au.

The Sector Support, Development & Training (SSDT) Project is an Australian Government project funded through the Department of Health and Aged Care, Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP). The aims of the project are to support the Aged Care Sector in our region which encompasses South West Sydney (Bankstown, Fairfield, Liverpool), Macarthur (Campbelltown, Camden, Wollondilly) and Wingecarribee Local Government Areas and to provide support to our elderly residents who may wish to enter the My Aged Care System in order to receive CHSP services that will enable them remain living independently at home and in their community.

The SSDT Project is able to provide subsidised training to both paid and volunteer staff who work within CHSP. Our training workshops are designed to meet the specific needs of the industry, fees for training are heavily subsidised and sometimes free, in order to provide equitable access to quality training for all staff.

SSDT Project staff meet regularly with local service providers through our regular Ageing Forums in order to determine industry needs and to ensure that we are able to deliver training, information, presentations and workshops on the current issues happening within the ever changing Aged Care CHSP space. We share industry news and updates with other providers in the community sector by facilitating regular Ageing Forums, sharing information and actively participating in various other events within our funded regions.
