About this event

The Quality Standards are being strengthened to address the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety.

It’s time to have your say, because quality aged care matters.

The Quality Standards are more than just a document. They provide a shared understanding of what is expected in aged care, and are a valuable resource for older Australians, their families, providers and staff alike.

The Department of Health and Aged Care has spoken with stakeholders from across the aged care sector, as well as older Australians and their families to understand how the Quality Standards should be strengthened. Based on this feedback, a strengthened version of the Quality Standards has been developed.

This online focus group is to hear the views of older people, their family, friends and carers on Standard 6 – Food & Nutrition. Numbers will be limited to allow everyone to have their say during the session.

Standard 6 includes requirements about identifying and monitoring food and drink needs of older people and providing appetising and nutritious food and drinks and an enjoyable dining environment. This standard is intended to apply to residential care providers.
