Age-Defy Dentistry: Direct restorative management of geriatric oral health

"AgeDefy Dentistry" is a NEW hands-on course designed to equip dental professionals with skills in the direct restorative management of oral health for the ageing population.

The course covers the physiological changes occurring in the oral cavity as individuals age, laying the foundation for understanding the specific dental needs of older patients. Participants gain practical insights into the impact of age-related factors on oral health, including considerations for systemic conditions, medications, and lifestyle influences.

Participants engage in live demonstrations and practical exercises covering a range of topics in the different direct restorative approaches and ideal dental materials to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based approaches to preventive care, addressing common dental issues faced by the ageing population, and implementing personalised treatment plans that prioritise the overall well-being of older patients.

In this workshop you will:

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of delivering care to older patients by applying

principles that guide the most effective meeting of their unique needs.

• Learn the restorative management of root caries, Class V, Class I and Class II restorations.

• Learn and understand the different selection of materials and use them appropriately.

Presenter:

Dr. RL Halili-Castillo

RL obtained her degree in Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of the East Philippines and managed her own clinical practice, Halili Dental Centre. Here she acquired extensive clinical experience and provided a comprehensive range of dental services to her patients. She has also practiced in the Health Promotion Board School Dental Services of Singapore, giving emphasis on oral health care programs for school children. With over 18 years of experience in the dental industry, she is currently the Professional Development Manager of GC Australasia Dental involved in training and education programs specialised in fibre technology, aesthetics, adhesive, and restorative dentistry across the region.

Cancellations (Outside 45 days) – Should you wish to cancel your training commitment more than 45 days prior to the event date, you will be permitted to choose one of the following options:

- Transfer your registration to a colleague to attend in your absence; OR

- Request a full refund (minus Eventbrite fees).

Cancellations (Inside 45 days) – Should you wish to cancel your training commitment within 45 days prior to the training date, no refund is permitted. MDPA will not be held liable for an attendees’ failure to cancel a booking within the specified timeframes.

Cancellations by Mobile Dental Providers Australia (event organisers) - While every effort is made to ensure this event is ran as advertised, there may be instances where the event needs to be rescheduled. Mobile Dental Providers Australia reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a workshop at its discretion. Where Mobile Dental Providers Australia must cancel the event, participants will be offered a full refund minus Eventbrite fees.
