Description

Your host for this workshop is David Perry from Research Platforms Services, The University of Melbourne. Bring your own Laptop.

This workshop is being held on Tuesday 31st October & Wednesday 1st November from 9am - 5pm each day

About this event

The Agave Platform (http://agaveapi.co) is an open source, science-as-a-service API platform for powering your digital lab. Agave allows you to bring together your public, private, and shared high performance computing (HPC), high throughput computing (HTC), Cloud, and Big Data resources under a single, web-friendly REST API.

In collaboration with Nectar, we're working on making Agave available to Australian researchers and developers for their applications and portals, including Virtual Laboratories. In this two workshop, we'll cover the API, app development, container integration, command line tools and best practices. The workshop will be presented by Dr. Rion Dooley, Leader of the Agave Project, based at the Texas Advanced Computing Centre (TACC), and hosted by Research Platform Services at The University of Melbourne.

We're happy to consider offering travel support to interstate participants who need it, particularly students and early-career researchers. Lunch and morning/afternoon tea will be provided. For any enquiries, please contact David Perry (perry.d@unimelb.edu.au)
