About this event

The AFTRS Library Presents 50th Anniversary Screening program is a celebration of feature films that have been made by AFTRS Alumni. This program shines a spotlight on the wonderful legacy of our screen practitioners, whose work continues to inspire. This month will are showcasing:

BAD BOY BUBBY (dir: Rolf De Heer, 1993)

"I love Bad Boy Bubby !" – Quentin Tarantino.

Rolf De Heer attended the Australian Film Television and Radio School in 1973 and has written and co-written thirteen original and adapted screenplays that have been made into feature films.

His career highlights include Dingo (1991), The Quiet Room (1996), Dance Me to My Song (1998), The Tracker (2002), Ten Canoes (2006) and Charlie’s Country (2013).

This event celebrates the 30th anniversary of his cult classic Bad Boy Bubby (1993).

Bad Boy Bubby (1993)

Summary: Bubby has spent thirty years trapped in the same small room, tricked by his mother. One day he manages to escape. Deranged and naive in equal measure, his adventure into the modern and nihilistic world begins.
