As the sun dips and the bushland comes alive, join us for an after‑dark BioBlitz that reveals the hidden world of nocturnal wildlife. This special evening session invites citizen scientists, families, and the conservation‑curious to explore the creatures that thrive when most of us are winding down.

We’ll head out in small groups, each guided by an expert naturalist with a passion for the night shift from arboreal mammals gliding overhead, to roosting birds, to the dazzling array of insects drawn to our lights. With spotlights, keen eyes, and a sense of adventure, we’ll uncover the species that only emerge under the cover of darkness.

All observations will be recorded on iNaturalist, helping build a richer picture of local biodiversity and contributing to real conservation data.

What the evening holds

• Guided spotlighting walks led by mammal, bird, and insect specialists

• Tips for safely and respectfully observing nocturnal wildlife

• A chance to learn about animal behaviour after dark

• A welcoming environment for all ages and experience levels

• Meaningful contributions to citizen science through iNaturalist

Step into the night and discover a side of nature that most people never get to see. The canopy is full of life - let’s shine a light on it together.
