Why Retailers Value Certifications

Australian Fashion Council (AFC) and Ethical Clothing Australia (ECA) invite you to join us for an Industry Panel and Networking session in Sydney, Thursday evening the 15th August.

Moderated by Vogue’s Sustainability Editor, and the presenter of the Wardrobe Crisis podcast; Clare Press, we’ll be delving into the topic of why Retailers value certifications.

To tackle this topic, Clare will be joined by speakers from major Australian retailers including; Jaana Quaintance-James - Head of Sustainability and Ethical Sourcing at THE ICONIC, Courtney Sanders - Co-Founder of Well Made Clothes, and Nicole Bennett - Ethical Trade Specialist for David Jones and Country Road Group.

We’ll be covering some key areas;

  • The state of retail in Australia

  • What retailers consider when buying (Ethical production, sustainability, transparency and/or local production)

  • The value of certification; communicating with the ethical consumer, and insights into consumer behaviour when it comes to ethical shopping.

Angela Bell, ECA’s National Manager and Dave Giles-Kaye, AFC’s CEO, will also be joining the session, which will be followed by networking drinks and opportunity to meet with the panelists and fellow industry members.
