Adventure trip to K'gari with San Bushman & Aboriginal Elders
Join us in person for an exclusive opportunity to accompany Lydia Kruiper and Rosemary Nabulwad and family to K'gari for a 4x4 adventure.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to jump on board a 4x4 adventure expedition to K'gari: together with Khomani San elder Lydia Kruiper and Australian Aboriginal artist Rosemary Nabulwad, and her family, as well as facilitator René Bahloo, you will spend 3 nights and four days exploring this unique and beautiful sand island. Local Indigenous elder Jan Williams from the Wonamutta clan of the Butchalla nation, and family, will do a special smoking ceremony to welcome our guests onto Butchalla land.
Our accommodation is self-catering camping on the island, and from there, we will venture out on explorations of the island. There will be time to do some weaving together, though tuition will not be offered. There will however be a wonderful opportunity to share time and stories with our elders as we (and they) exlpore the incredible landscape, for the first time, as part of an intimate crew. There will be much fun and heartfelt connection, to be sure! Think crocodiles and lions! Oh, and crazy snake stories and legends.
Note that this is a self-catered experience. Meals can, however, be purchased at the nearby resort at times, and /or at general stores we might come across on our travels.
Prices are tiered according to accommodation type.
Note that the journey is booked directly after our weekend weaving, healing and beadmaking retreat, so if you are interstate, this is an opportunity to tag the two together, for a deeper experience, but act fast!
If you have a 4x4 and want to tag along with a few extra (of our booked) passengers, let me know, as I can discount your price - act fast to secure this, as the offer is available only to the first in, best dressed applicant.
See you soon!
