Adelaide Desalination Plant – Community Open Day
The Adelaide Desalination Plant is the state’s largest desalination plant, able to produce 100 gigalitres per year. The plant has been delivering drinking water since 2012 helping ensure water security for metropolitan Adelaide.
Each 90-minute session starts at the Kauwi Centre, where you will learn about the process of desalination and other SA Water activities, followed by a guided bus tour of the site, with access to one of the main process buildings. At the end of the official tour, you are welcome to explore the Kauwi Centre native garden, or take a stroll along the Kauwi Interpretive Walking Trail that follows the coastline beside the Desalination Plant.
This event is free to attend but bookings are essential.
