TeachingPlus@UQProjectaims to:build onTeaching@UQby offering opportunities to enhance T&L practice beyond a basic level;enhance UQ’s Communities of Practice in T&Lengage academics in applied and innovative research that:embraces change and disruptive practice;directly impacts student learning;results in evidence-based teaching; anddevelops leadership capacity; andprovide an opportunity for accreditation as a fellow of theHigher Education Academy(HEA).TeachingPlus@UQwill provide capacity building for future T&L leaders at UQ and thereby:demonstrates the value that UQ places on ‘Staff professional development and recognition’;has an impact on student learning in the courses and programs in which the participants teach; andimplements initiatives that address the Student Strategy across UQ.

The Active Learning Pathways Symposium is hosted by the Active Learning Pathways Project (ALPP) led by the HASS Faculty. The Symposium will showcase active learning initiatives embedded in twelve courses across the seven HASS Schools. The presentations are organised under three subthemes: Engaging Learners, Engaging with Technology, and Engaging with Community and Industry. The speakers will share their experiences of implementing active learning, including challenges faced and lessons learned. 
This Symposium, although focusing on active learning approaches implemented in Humanities and Social Sciences courses, will provide learning applicable across all disciplines. The ALPP project team would like to invite everyone who is interested in implementing active learning teaching and learning innovations to join us for all or part of the symposium.
