Enjoy an afternoon filled with colour and creative flow guided by painting artist Sophie Ryan. Surrounded by the beautiful art at Q Gallery in Ainslie Canberra. You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in your very own acrylic on canvas landscape painting, with all materials provided, you can sit back, relax and get creative!

Knowledge required: No experience necessary! Sophie strongly believes that everyone is an artist, and all artists are welcome! This is a wonderful class to learn a foundation of tools and techniques of acrylic painting which can be incorporated later in your creative path, or just enjoy a fun afternoon out!

What you will do

● Firstly, you will enjoy some sketching, this will help get your creative mind flowing and

prepare ideas for your landscape painting.

● You will then be guided through various painting techniques such as composition, colour

theory, light and shadow, to help you on your way!

● Next you will learn about underpainting and preparing your canvas for painting.

● Then, it’s time to get painting!

What to bring

● Old Clothes. Painting can be a bit messy, so please wear clothes you don’t mind getting

some paint on! Aprons will be provided for use.

● Ideas! If you have any reference material or photos please bring them with you!

A light afternoon tea will be provided. If you have any dietary requirements please let us know so we can try and accommodate you.
