ACE is a new solo performance that explores asexuality, intimacy, heteronormativity, and misogyny.

The Actors

In the space of an hour, I reflect on my experiences of intimacy and relationships through the lens of asexuality. Since coming out as asexual in 2021, I have begun a journey of unpicking the heteronormative and patriarchal habits that my body and mind have internalised. This piece is my attempt to process and give visibility to my sexuality while disempowering the misogynistic values that have kept me quiet for so long. By enduring ten sex positions in tandem with a fragmented voiceover, I attempt to separate my tangled thoughts on intimacy, heteronormativity, and misogyny.While there is seating available, this piece encourages you to walk around the space. You may stand, walk, sit on a chair, or sit/lie on the floor.
