The ocean off north-western Australia is a remote area of the world with a rich diversity of fish species. It is also rich in oil and gas reserves and contains many artificial structures used for their extraction. Normally, these are removed when they are no longer needed, but is this the most environmentally and financially sensible option?
This talk will explore how scientists research the marine life around oil and gas structures and the importance of these unique ecosystems.
