About this Event

AcceSex: a partnership between Women with Disabilities Victoria (WDV) and Women's Health in the North (WHIN).

What is AcceSex?

AcceSex is a workshop focusing on creating more inclusive and accessible reproductive and sexual healthcare services and community programs for women with disabilities. AcceSex is a low cost, highly practical half-day training for any health and community workers in the Northern Metro Region of Melbourne of Victoria. There will be several workshops held throughout 2020, including opportunities to provide whole-of-organisation training.

What information will included in an AcceSex workshop?

  • Disability, gender and intersectionality
  • Reproductive coercion, sterilisation, contraception and consent
  • Disability inclusion and best practice skills
  • Practical ways to make your service and professional practice more accessible

Date: Tuesday 03 March 2020

Time: 12.30pm - 5.00pm (Afternoon tea and lunch included)

Is this event/venue accessible?

WHIN and WDV are committed to offering accessible training, events and meetings. Please see details below. If you have any access needs that are not listed below, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.

Car: The closest car park facility is located directly behind the centre and is free for the first four hours. Free full-day parking permits are available for event holders and guests.

Train: Broadmeadows train station is located within two minutes walk of the centre. Part of the Craigieburn line, it offers commuters direct connections to the Melbourne CBD within 25 minutes. Regional connections are also available.

Hearing loop: Hearing loop available.

Accessible bathrooms: Accessible bathrooms available.

Wheelchair access: This venue is wheelchair accessible.

Am I eligible for this training?

This training is only open to workers in the northern metropolitan region of Melbourne. This includes the local council areas of Banyule, Darebin, Hume, Moreland, Nillumbik, Whittlesea and Yarra.

How will I know if my registration has been confirmed?

Your registration is confirmed once you have received your ticket via email. If you do not receive your ticket please check your spam folder. If you have problems using Eventbrite to register, please contact info@whin.org.au or 9484 1666.
