Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health First Aid (Redcliffe)
Learn how to appropriately assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who are experiencing mental health problems and crisis.

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health First Aid course will teach you how to assist Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional support is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence based Action Plan.
This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.
The course is delivered face-to-face over two days by an accredited Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health First Aid instructor from UnitingCare Queensland's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Team. Participants are required to book, attend and complete both days of the course in order to become an accredited Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health First Aider.
All UnitingCare staff, Connect 100+ connecters and Uniting Church congregation members are invited to participate in this course and learn how to be effective and culturally appropriate in empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and providing information that is highly relevant in assisting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples experiencing mental health problems.
There is no cost for the delivery and resources of this workshop, but we kindly ask that you supply your own lunch and transport to and from the location.
