At Home at Maranatha House
Please join us when we will be opening Maranatha House which is heritage listed and located in Neutral Bay on Sydney's lower North Shore.
Maranatha House has been renovated by Bijl Architecture, an award winning Sydney based practice and Maranatha has an interesting history across owners and eras.
The Maranatha house is about layers – in turn acknowledging, revealing, rethinking and extending the layers created over time by each of the additions and alterations already made to the original stone cottage. The material language of Maranatha has been specifically chosen to connect and create clarity between and about these layers.
Maranatha house is also about framing – framing views, using lines and framing devices to control what you do and don’t see as you move into, through, around and out of the house. This changes your perception of the size and shape of the property, including leveraging the elevated floor level at the rear so that the foliage of the park feels like it is within the site, rather than outside it.
There were a few original period details that lasted the distance and these were retained, refurbished and refreshed, including the timber multipaned double hung windows and marble fireplaces.
Don't miss out on going inside this beautiful heritage listed home and hearing the architects talk about Maranatha House, so book now.
