A Seat at the Table — IWD Lunch for Women of Colour Entrepreneurs

A Seat at the Table — IWD Lunch for Women of Colour Entrepreneurs

Overview

Good food, real connections, and the beginning of something special. An IWD lunch for women of colour entrepreneurs in Western Sydney.

The Saffron Sisters Collective Launch

If you are a woman of colour from a migrant, refugee, or diaspora background building a business in Greater Western Sydney, this lunch is for you.

Join us for an International Women's Day celebration where you will sit down with other women of colour entrepreneurs who understand your journey. Share a meal, share stories, and be part of something that's been growing quietly through research, talking circles, and a whole lot of heart.

This is where The Saffron Sisters Collective begins. It is a space for connection, shared learning, and building businesses grounded in cultural identity.

What to Expect

  • Lunch prepared by our Saffron Sisters Sangee's Kitchen and Racha Syrian Kitchen
  • A panel conversation with three Saffron Sisters sharing their entrepreneurial journeys
  • A mini exhibition of painted narratives featuring the stories of our Saffron Sisters
  • An interactive art session to close the afternoon
  • The Official Launch of the Saffron Sisters

Who This Event Is For

Women of colour entrepreneurs at any stage — just starting, growing, or pivoting. It's also for allies who want to learn, connect, and stand alongside women of colour in business. This event is especially for those who look at business from a mindfulness lens and are looking for a group which truly embraces them as they are

Photography

We will be taking photos and videos throughout the event to share the story of the Saffron Sisters. Please speak to our team on arrival if you would prefer not to be photographed.

Getting There

By Train (Recommended): Parramatta Station is a 5-minute walk from the venue.

By Car: No parking on campus, but Westfield Parramatta offers the first 4 hours free with their app (~5-minute walk). Street parking and council car parks also available. More details will be sent closer to the event
