Will the event be recorded?

For privacy and safety, the event recording will not be shared or distributed. Participant recording or AI transcription devices are strictly prohibited.

Can I attend anonymously?

This event is a participatory conversation, meaning cameras must be on, and attendees are expected to engage. You may notify us if you are using a pseudonym.
If you require audio-only participation, we recommend attending the original series author spotlights where listening is welcomed.

What if I'm not comfortable speaking?

This is a space to practice using your voice. You are not required to speak at length, but you must be willing to contribute in some way—even if it’s sharing a brief reflection.
If you are not ready for this yet, consider attending the original series, which offers a more observational experience.

How do I submit a question?

Unlike the original series, this event does not have pre-submitted questions. Instead, we will explore one or two key themes, allowing for organic conversation and real-time engagement.

What if I need to leave early?

Accepted Answer

We understand that life happens, but for the integrity of the discussion, we ask that you stay for the full 60-minute conversation. If you need to leave unexpectedly, please do so quietly.

Will there be follow-up resources of discussion groups?

Accepted Answer

Yes! After each event, we send out a brief survey to collect insights and suggestions for future topics and a follow-up summary email is sent within 48 hours. Some attendees may also wish to connect outside of the event—you're welcome to attend the original series for now. News will follow later.

Can I invite a friend or colleague?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We welcome survivors, parents, allies, professionals, educators and researchers who are willing to engage in meaningful conversation. Please ensure they understand the participation expectations before registering. Each person is to use their own screen.

Is this event suitable for someone in crisis?

Accepted Answer

No. This is not a therapeutic or crisis support group. If you are in distress or need immediate support, we encourage you to reach out to a trusted professional or crisis service in your area.

What if I don't know much about SSA?

Accepted Answer

That’s okay! This space is for both lived experience survivors and those seeking to learn. Whether you are an advocate, educator, or researcher, your presence and willingness to engage in thoughtful conversation are valued.

Tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled or rescheduled.
