Do you want to experience a day in the life of a Murdoch University student?
A Day in the Life of a Murdoch University Student is the perfect opportunity for high school students currently in Year 9-10 to explore their interests. You will create a customised university timetable based on subjects of interest, speak with current Murdoch University students about their study journey and be inspired by our academics.
Please note: When registering, the form must be completed by the parent/guardian of any Year 9 or 10 high school student (age 14-16) wanting to attend 'A Day in the Life of a Murdoch University Student' and is required for entry to the event. This event will run on both Wednesday 8th April and Thursday 9th April 2026. Please choose only one day to attend. The program is identical on both days.

Psychology - Facial Expressions
Investigate how emotions are expressed through subtle facial cues. Develop observational skills by analysing expressions, challenging assumptions and gaining a deeper understanding of the complexity of human emotions.
IT - Let's Get Rolling, Let's Get Coding
An introduction to robotics and coding using Spheros. Learn basic programming concepts through fun, competition-style challenges that build problem-solving, logic and teamwork skills.
Physical Sciences - Chemical Rockets
Launch rockets using an acid–base reaction. Explore the physics of thrust, weight and flight, experiment with different ratios, and analyse how these variables affect rocket height.

Environmental Science - Wetlands Tour
Explore the Chelodina Wetland through hands-on field activities. Identify flora and fauna, observe food chains, and examine abiotic and biotic interactions while learning why urban wetlands are vital for ecosystems and humans.

Graphic Design - Ideation

Law - Mock Trial
Take part in a courtroom simulation and learn how the legal system works. Students observe a mock trial, understand jury decision-making, and deliver a verdict based on presented evidence.

Work in teams to solve puzzles and unlock a breakout box. Decode clues to interpret food labels, macronutrients and food aliases while discovering how nutrition affects everyday health.
