About this event

Gentle to Progressive HATHA YOGA Classes: Wednesday mornings

Outline: Yoga classes are set amidst the inspiring natural environment of Wylie's Baths with sweeping ocean views under the shelter of the Yoga space marquee including sun and shade options. This one hour Yoga class takes place on Wednesday mornings.

BYO Everything: Please bring all your own Yoga and personal needs. Yoga Mat, Coverings etc as shared items may not be available.

Early arrival is Important: While most classes may typically have more than ample space available, this is not guaranteed. To be more certain, a place may only be reserved through your own early arrival and mat placement. For example, arriving at least 10 minutes early is suggested to place your mat on an empty space, so as to reserve your spot. This is the reservation system for this class. This may be especially important during the potentially busier summer season and for the more popular 9am class.

Shared use Yoga space: In attending the class please be prepared to share the space equitably and cooperatively to assist in accomodating others who may also be seeking to attend. Please respect other people's personal property including mat placement by not moving other people's belongings. Please kindly request any slight adjustment where needed. In most classes, even in the more popular summer months there is typically ample space available for everyone - however this can not be guaranteed.

Shared use Public facility: This unique venue is a popular heritage community shared use facility which includes a range of activities in other adjacent areas in proximity to the Yoga space. This includes: Swimming within the ocean pool in front and below; Social getherings with family and friends; Meals and beverage outlet; Change-rooms for swimmers; Other similar or related activities. There may be audible conervsations and activities from time to time. In rough weather and at high tide or during storms the sounds of nature may predominate. You may at times need to focus more carefully towards listening and understanding the words of the Yoga teacher, or you may need to observe more closely any demonstration being provided for a practice.

Weather & Year round practice: This sheltered Yoga space faces the warm morning sunshine. The marquee shelter has additional sides which are attached towards winter. On fine days some of the practices may be taken into the adjoining, more open outdoor space. During wet weather our Yoga practices continue under the shelter of the Yoga space marquee. Please note that in wet and very windy weather the wooden deck may become a little damp and breezy so a waterproof yoga mat and warmer clothing is important.

Attendance and self care in practice: The classes are available for those without previous Yoga experience (beginners) as well as to those who are more experienced. Where there is attendance with mixed experience there will be guidance towards adapting ones practice accordingly. Note that practicing carefully within ones level of fitness, health and ability is important and is strongly encouraged. You are encouraged to practice gently and to reduce the effort and / or range of movement and to stop and rest at any time where needed so as to make the practice safe and useful. Those who are fitter and familiar with the practice may choose to work more strongly. Working within ones abilities is essential for safe practice and progressive useful development.

Venue use: Entry to the Venue is for the Yoga Class only and any very early arrival or extended stays or use of pool or other facilities will require payment of the normal separate and additional venue entry fee at the Wylie's entry gate. Please enquire with Wylie's Baths Management for details.

Booking Conditions: The information provided on this Eventbrite page and related Emails and on the YOGA NATURE Website and Notices constitute the Booking Terms and Conditions. On making a Booking you are confirming that you have read, understood, agreed to and that you will comply with these Terms and Conditions. You agree to obtain clarification with YOGA NATURE on any significant requirement as necessary. This event is organised by YOGA NATURE and your booking includes only the requested YOGA NATURE Classes at your nominated time and date. The Booking is not refundable so please make your selection carefully. The Booking is not transferable, exchangeable or interchangeable with activities, events, classes or services offered by others. The classes may only be attended by the person Booked.

Inclusivity: Classes are broadly inclusive and welcoming to people across Multi- Generational/Ability/Experience/Familiarity - Backgrounds and Levels. For example, classes may include Adults, Seniors, Children. Children must be accompanied by an adult that is present at all times, with Children and Adult both booked and both participating at their own pace during the class. The level of participation one chooses is optional to cater for one's own individual needs, including practicing only when one considers it to be suitable and safe to do so under one's own current circumstances and conditions. For example, at times some attendees may be recovering from an injury or past illness or may be experiencing longer-term conditions. Some attendees may choose to engage in only the very gentlest of practices and may for example elect to rest in a deeply relaxed position for some of the time. Others attendees may elect to practice much more strongly or dynamically or energetically where suitable and safe to do. In attending you are agreeing to be fully responsible for your own safe practice including following any professional medical advice you have received related to exercising only in the manner prescribed and only where suitable. At times, some or all of the practices may be unsuitable. Learning Yoga practices can at times require some patience and a willingness to begin to slow down. Practice is supported by listening carefully to guidelines and instructions and to your own body. Attending several classes will support a more gradual progression of understanding and development at a more relaxed pace and is a more likely path towards meaningful wellbeing and health benefits.

IMPORTANT & ESSENTIAL: HEALTH, CARE, SAFETY

Fitness, Health & Medical Condition Check: You are most welcome to attend classes provided you have been medically advised that Yoga is suitable for your own particular circumstances and conditions. Please ensure that you have consulted with appropriate professional medical practitioners before making a Booking.

COVID SAFETY: Normal COVID precautions current at the time of attendance are applicable as well as any special precaution required by YOGA NATURE and the Venue Management. You agree to check and be responsible for meeting these requirements. Yoga Classes include teachings of Traditional Yoga practices promoting wellbeing, insight and development at personal, relational and professional levels. The approach to teaching is guided by Traditional Yoga including Buddhist concepts, philosophy and values and are supported by Eastern contemplative and Western contemporary research and learning. The teaching style is facilitative and human centred with a strong focus on self-awareness, self-care, self-development, self-management as well as the importance of connectedness to community and responsibilities (Sangha). Classes often explore the original intent and purpose of Yoga, the management of the mind, body, emotions and stress as well as foundations for living life with greater clarity, meaning and wellbeing.
