SHAKESPEARE – THE COMPLETE WORKS - A four-year project to read Shakespeare’s entire canon of plays for Melbourne audiences.

Our first reading in 2020 will be King John Monday 24 February at 7:00 pmOn the last Monday of every month, February through November for the next four years, every single one of the 40 plays attributed to William Shakespeare will be read in full at the Alex Theatres, in chronological order through his entire career, from The Two Gentlemen of Verona to The Two Noble Kinsmen. Ever-reliable warhorses such as Romeo &amp; Juliet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream will sit alongside rarely seen works like King John and Henry VIII, with his several collaborations with other writers, including Edward III and Sir Thomas More, will also be read.The project has been conceived and will be coordinated, by actor and director David Meadows, a veteran of dozens of independent Shakespeare productions around Australia and internationally. David is a WAAPA graduate with several Hamlets, Iagos, and Petruccio’s to his name, as well as a Shylock, a Macbeth, and a Mercutio, and directing credits as far afield as Mexico.
