A conversation between interpreters and Tribunal members
This Symposium aims to open a discussion about interpreting in tribunal settings, including different tribunals’ specific environments and needs when working with interpreters, what the tribunals do to assist interpreters, the challenges experienced by interpreters when working in tribunals and by language service providers, as well as the Recommended National Standards for Working with Interpreters in Courts and Tribunals. Bringing together a Panel comprising representatives from different tribunals, interpreting practitioners, agencies, educators and students, NAATI, AUSIT and ASLIA, the event will provide a forum for collaborative discussion. Panel members’ presentations will be followed by a Q&A and questions from the audience.
