<h2>Event#1 - Clare Valley &amp; Tasmania vertical wine tasting. </h2><h3>Minimum Age: 18 years (proof of age may be requested at the event)</h3><h3>16 bottles of wine</h3><h3>Maximum 20 people</h3><h3>$99/person includes set menu lunch and wine tasting</h3><p>Come and join us for a truly unique wine tasting event; a vertical of four labels from the Clare Valley and Tasmania paired with a set menu lunch.  For those of you that know wine and wine tasting events, just scroll down for the list and it should sell itself.  For the rest, keep reading.   A &#x27;vertical&#x27; tasting involves tasting wines of the same label from different years (vintages).  All of the wines you will try are made to age, and all of them are in their drinking window or yet to enter it.  If you&#x27;ve ever wondered how a great wine changes with age then this event will answer that question.  You don&#x27;t need to be a wine snob to enjoy this event - it is designed to cater for everyone.   Informal seating arrangements.  Drink in the order and at the pace that suits you.   The tasting sizes are relatively small, choose between 20mL, 30mL or 40mL, dispensed automatically via a machine called an Enomatic.  You can choose to spit or swallow (no pun intended).  Come alone or get a group together.  Read the wine critics notes and/or write your own.  Based on an average 35mL serving size of all 16 wines, is the equivalent of 3/4 of a 750mL bottle.  The wines are all premium classification, generally scoring at least 95 points (from 100) with at least one wine critic.  One of the wines is considered an urban myth; Wendouree only make small volumes of red wines from vines dating back as far as the 1800&#x27;s, and only sell those wines to a small group of loyal collectors.  Grosset are renowned by global critics for their &#x27;perfectionist&#x27; approach to making the Polish Hill Riesling, consistently rated as one of the best Australian white wines.  Dawson James are relatively new kids on the block but are collecting trophies, medals and high scores faster than the Chinese are snapping up baby forumula and Penfolds Grange.              </p><h3>Wine List: </h3><p>Grosset Polish Hill Riesling (Clare Valley, SA):  2006, 2008, 2010, 2012 &amp; 2014 </p><p>Wendouree Cabernet Malbec (Clare Valley, SA): 1995, 1999, 2004, 2008 &amp; 2012  </p><p>Dawson James Chardonnay (Derwent Valley, Tas): 2013, 2014 &amp; 2015 </p><p>Dawson James Pinot Noir (Derwent Valley, Tas): 2013, 2014 &amp; 2015</p><h3>Lunch</h3><p>A set menu starting with shared tasting platters, followed by a selection of tapas and pizzas.  Dessert to finish.    </p><h3>Format</h3><p>Self-service wine.  Up to 3 tasting glasses per person.  Each person will be issued an Enomatic card loaded with $100 credit.  Refer to the table below serving sizes and prices.  The $100 credit allows you to drink an average of 35mL of every wine.  Any unused credit will be forfeited at the close of the event.       </p><h3>Other things to note</h3><p>There will be a selection of other drinks (beer, wine, soft drink) available to purchase from the venue on the day.  Please avoid wearing too much perfume or aftershave - the desired effect might be the opposite to what you were hoping, unless you like sitting by yourself.  Casual attire.   Laws relating to the responsible service of alcohol apply.    </p><h3>About the organiser</h3><p>Best To Last are a wine tasting event coordinator bringing bespoke events to Adelaide and surrounds, bucking the trend of the majority of wine tasting events which are just a sales pitch for new release wines.  The owner of B.T.L. is an avid collector of wines that are designed to age, the sort of wines that it would be considered a sin to drink until they accumulate enough cellar dust to obscure the label.  The collection, housed in a professional wine storage facility (with very little dust), is becoming too large and he now plans to drink them with your help.
