Essential training for all frontline workers in Central Australia, with a particular focus on managing disclosures of domestic, family and sexual violence made to health service providers.
This full day course covers foundational information in addition to the development of practical skills to respond to clients and patients at risk of experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence.
This training opportunity is subsidised and group sizes are limited. Register early to avoid disappointment.
Participants will:
· Strengthen understandings of the nature & dynamics of family violence in the Northern Territory;
· Gain insight into the legal responses to domestic and family violence, including how to approach mandatory reporting obligations;
· Connect with a broad range of local service providers and DFSV specialists to understand the role of each service in crisis management and prevention;
· Develop an understanding of how to support an integrated and trauma-informed response focused on client needs and capability; and
· Develop confidence in accessing referral pathways & conducting initial safety planning.
