Farmers2Founders is thrilled to announce the launch of our AGtivate Regional Innovation Series, kicking off in Tamworth on Thursday, 23rd November. Join us for an opportunity to collaborate, innovate and influence the future of the agricultural sector. The one-day event will include local farm tour and producer panel, hackathon workshop and a Pitch in a Paddock event. Whether you're a seasoned farmer, a tech enthusiast, entrepreneur, student, researcher or just intrigued by agtech, there is a seat for you. W﻿hy agriculture?The agriculture industry has big goals, but also has some big challenges:<ul><li>Labour shortages</li><li>Climate variability including drought and flooding</li><li>Biosecurity risks</li><li>Input costs and availability eg: fertiliser</li><li>Sustainability</li><li>Supply chain disruptions</li></ul>W﻿hat is agtech?Agriculture + technology = AgtechAgtech represents the bonding of one of the world’s oldest businesses, farming, with new tech approaches. This involves a variety of tech advances in the science of livestock and crop management, soil improvement techniques, equipment upgrades, sensors, better sustainability practices, food safety and data gathering through the use of artificial intelligence, or AI, geographical information systems, 5G technology and ag-related cyber security.At Farmers2Founders we believe; <ul><li>Innovative technological approaches are pivotal in addressing these challenges. </li><li>The bedrock of resolving intricate issues lies in collaboration. </li><li>The agriculture sector is not solely farmers – it's an open field for all. </li><li>To create impactful a joint effort between farmers, entrepreneurs, collaborators and technologists is required. </li></ul>In order to develop the next generation of farm innovations that create impact, it’s going to take collaboration between producers, entrepreneurs, technologists and anyone wanting and willing to help.What is an Agtech Hackathon?A hackathon is an event that fosters innovation and collaboration with the goal of expanding technology development.An Agtech Hackathon is an event that identifies current challenges in the agricultural industry and for which tech solutions are proposed.Over a 3 hour period, participants will be split into teams and asked to HACK probable solutions to a series of given challenges for the agriculture sector.Join us for this inaugural AGtivate event designed to not only help solve problems, but enable connection, conversation and collaboration between groups of aggies and innovators for the future of agriculture.T﻿he AGtivate Event Series is supported by funding from the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry as part of its Support Regional Trade Events Program.
