<h2>Tour Guides Australia continues our series of FREE-for-member webinars focusing on unique aspects and features in regions across Australia.</h2><h1>Our upcoming webinar focuses on Tasmania, with a virtual visit to <a href="https://portarthur.org.au/history/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Port Arthur Historic Site</a>.  <a href="https://www.koalahospital.org.au/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"></a></h1><p>The story of Port Arthur Historic Site is a story of many people, places and moments.  Some of us can trace our roots back to the convicts who passed through this significant place in Australia&#x27;s modern history.</p><h3>On this webinar, learn how this most-famous of UNESCO World Heritage Listed Australian Convict Sites, fits in the wider lexicon of Australian history and how the events here impacted the development of our country beyond Tasmania.</h3><h2>Y﻿ou will also hear about the significance of the Port Arthur Massacre (1996) and gain some insights about how tour guides can interpret aspects of our &#x27;dark history&#x27; for our guests.</h2><h3>O﻿ur presenter, Andrew Wiles, was awarded Rosny College&#x27;s Tourism Student of the Year (2011).  In his early career, he helped lead the development of the West Coast Wilderness Railway in Tasmania.  He then worked as a tour guide and tour administrator at the Port Arthur Historic Site for 5 years.
