The Heat is On! Register to compete OR book your spot in the audience - it's live and loud and taking over the Council Chambers!

We paused. Took a moment. A world-wide “…Ummm”. Now, the slam storm returns. In 2023, flex vocal chords with a new voice. Run with new leaders. Turn your moments of “…um” into MomentUm. Write new poetic revolutions. You’ve got two minutes on the mic. Build your MomentUm to crescendo and be heard.Poetry Slams and wordshops are popping up around the nation. From June to October, 1000 writers will grab their moment in the spotlight leading to one National Final at Sydney Opera House and a prize worth $20,000, including publishing opportunities and gigs from Byron to Bali and beyond.Watch, judge, perform, learn. Live and lit up in the Council Chambers you'll get to perform amongst peers to a live audience and make your bid to attend the NSW Slam in Sydney. Register NOW to secure one of 20 spots in the Heat OR book your seat in the live audience. Open to all ages.Poets must perform in their residing state or territory to be eligible.
