This research investigates existing food-related policies in Australian urban centres, and ascertain to what extent these address urban food problems.

How does urban food planning occur in Australia?

The project aims to deliver an industry database that geographically maps grain, beef, lamb and poultry businesses in the Namoi region along with the agri-commodities they produce, and a multi-criteria decision support tool to guide selection of locations for animal protein agribusiness development.

This collaborative project with EcoMag looks to upcycle industrial and farm waste into eco-friendly plasterboard, with the purpose of shrinking the carbon footprint of Australia’s construction sector.

The ‘Tomato rhizobiome’ project’ is designed to further our understanding of microbial colonies in the root zones of hydroponically grown greenhouse tomato crops.

The aim of this project is to identify novel fertigation, nutrient delivery, and management approaches of growing vegetables to increase both yield and quality of produce in both Australia and Qatar.
