This workshop for OPTIMA Graduate Researchers will focus on building an online professional profile and cover common challenges for research

As you progress in your career, it’s vital you have a professional online presence because it will bring new opportunities, connections and visibility. But it can be hard to know where and how to best invest your time and energy when it comes to social media and other visibility opportunities. In this session, we’ll go through five steps to ensure you develop your professional profile strategically and we’ll specifically consider the value of LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram for scientists. We’ll also consider the challenges of being more visible.It will be presented by Associate Professor Jen Martin, who trains scientists in research communication.Our aim is for OPTIMA graduates to improve their professional skills alongside their technical skills to support them in transforming industry.This in-person event will be held at Melbourne Connect, Level 8 kitchenFor OPTIMA Centre members-If you would like transport from the Monash campus, or if you have any questions about this event or accessibility needs, please contact Charlotte, our Business and Operations Manager, by June 7th.
