Join us for an Expressive Mindful Movement workshop with David Wood, dancer, choreographer and yogi, as we reinvigorate body and soul through the art of mindful movement. No dance experience needed – just a willingness to connect with sound and motion, and to simply allow yourself to go with the flow.In this innovative session, we learn to express and move freely in a safe environment that has been created for the purpose of healing, self-awareness and being fully present and aligned with our true selves. Through the gentle, exploratory beauty of improvisation, we play with a series of emotions and actualise them through awareness, form and movement.-= Program flow =-Warm-up: we commence with a yoga-style warm-up, including breath work and meditation to ground us, get the blood circulating and gain better control over the body. Group work: we then move into collaborative yet simple movement group work where we develop stronger cognitive health and a feeling of togetherness. Improv: in this section we will work on trusting and supporting each other in a way that allows our inner child to come to the fore, while at the same time feeling free to express ourselves in a way that is both releasing as well as creative.Come and connect your emotional and creative mind into one that expresses itself through the art of movement. He has always come to the space of dancing from the starting point of internal experience which then evokes the external movement. David sees dance as an intuitive expressive practice that is available to all of us. He is also a qualified yoga instructor and integrates gentle yoga into his workshops.
