Australian Plant Communities - Brisbane Botanic Gardens, Mt Coot-tha

By far the most common forest type in Australia is the eucalypt forest. In March 2023 is the 10th annual National Eucalypt Day, when we celebrate this most unique of trees. Today’s special GumFest guided walk is dedicated to Eucalypts and includes a talk on their unique characteristics, their incredible adaptation to Australian climates and their significant role in supporting biodiversity in Australia’s ecosystems. The guided walks will be undertaken by Volunteer Guides with a keen and special interest in Eucalypts. Requirements: Please wear a hat and covered shoes; and bring a keep cup or water bottle.I﻿f this walk interests you, search for Gumfest in eventbrite to find other activities you can get involved with on the day!Please meet at the GumFest information tent at the festival held at the Australian Plant Communities section of the Brisbane Botanic Gardens, Mt Coot-tha. Please allow up to 30 minutes to get to the GumFest site once you reach the Botanic Gardens. We&#x27;re putting on a shuttle bus at the Visitor Information Centre to take you up to the festival site at the Australian Plant Communities, or you can stroll there - just follow the gum leaves along the Adventure Trail.
