The Powerful Owl project with Andrew Dinwoodie

Join Andrew Dinwoodie to learn about about Powerful Owls, the giant hollow-bearing Eucalypts that they rely on for survival, and the ways in which the urban environment can impact the survival of these majestic nocturnal hunters. Andrew Dinwoodie is the coordinator for the Brisbane Powerful Owl Project component of the Urban Birds Program. He has worked in the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service in Natural Resource Management and also as an ecologist with the QPWS Ecological Assessment Unit. Andrew has also worked with the Threatened Species Unit on the Northern Hairy-nosed Wombat and Bridled Nailtail Wallaby recovery projects. In 2021 Andrew joined the BirdLife Australia flock to work on the Brisbane Powerful Owl project. Andrew has extensive experience in integrated feral species management as part of a range of threatened species recovery projects. We&#x27;re putting on a shuttle bus at the Visitor Information Centre to take you up to the festival site at the Australian Plant Communities, or you can stroll there - just follow the gum leaves along the Adventure Trail.
