Pick up a pencil and notebook and discover the trees of the gardens in a new way. The practice of drawing or writing in response to nature (nature journaling) sharpens your observation skills while also allowing you a quiet, relaxing experience immersed in nature. The workshop will take you through beginner exercises that show you that anyone can write and draw. Paula Peeters is an ecologist, artist and writer who has been studying, drawing and writing about trees for most of her life. This session will include the identification of some eucalypts and their relatives, a discussion of their ecology and evolution, and the creation of your own nature journal pages using colour materials.Please wear a hat and covered shoes. Please bring a snack and a keep cup or water bottle. I﻿f this workshop interests you, search for Gumfest in eventbrite to find other activities you can get involved with on the day!Please allow up to 30 minutes to get to the GumFest site once you reach the Botanic Gardens. We&#x27;re putting on a shuttle bus at the Visitor Information Centre to take you up to the festival site at the Australian Plant Communities, or you can stroll there - just follow the gum leaves along the Adventure Trail.
