Book launch of two trans and gender-diverse community anthologies, with trans maker's market, art displays, spoken word performance

Join us at the Bluestone Church Arts Space in Footscray on 3 December as we celebrate not one but two new collections of trans* and gender-diverse writing, created by local publisher Thousand Threads Press.From 5.30pm pick up some arts, crafts or merch from our trans and gender-diverse market stalls and grab your discounted copy of We Twinkle Like Gold or In Flux. At 6.30 we’ll officially launch both books and celebrate our contributors with book signings and tasty snacks7.30 kicks off a special event featuring writers from In Flux in a curated performance of their work.Whether you’re a word nerd or just want to celebrate TGD awesomeness, this event is for you!Come early to hang, snack and check out the books and leave before the performance starts OR you can come later just for the performance. This time window is to support different preferences and maximum access.N﻿OTAFLOF and we have some Pay It Forward tickets: email writingcollective@peersupport.org.au to askACCESS:The Bluestone Church Arts Space is a wheelchair accessible venue with an accessible bathroom. Accessible entry to the building is via the door located next to the Footscray Town Hall carpark. The main double doors where the box office is located are currently not accessible due to a set of 5 heritage-listed bluestone steps. Once inside, the venue operates all on one level – there are no stairs, steps or lifts within the building. I﻿f you need to sit somewhere special or sit to stand, please get in contact with us so we can reserve your spot.T﻿he space is high roofed with polished wooden floors, which can bounce the sound around. Consider ear plugs if you are highly noise-sensitive. There will be some quiet music playing immediately pre-performance. R﻿esigned gender-free bathrooms.V﻿egan, gluten free snacks provided. Non-alcoholic beverages for sale.General parking is available directly behind the venue in the Footscray Town Hall car park, or on nearby streets. There is also a designated wheelchair accessible parking space located outside the entrance to Footscray Town Hall, approximately 40m from the entrance to the venue. Footscray Train Station is located 500m from the Bluestone Church Arts Space, and has ramps and elevators as well as accessible toilets.C﻿OVID:P﻿lease consider your peers, especially the health vulnerable, and do not come if you have COVID symptoms. Masks are encouraged. Markets, launch and performance are indoors, but pre-performance snacks and drinks can be taken outside where there&#x27;ll be additional seating. P﻿re-performance will be standing with limited seating (and on request). Performance will be seating in rows. Supported by City of Maribyrnong and River Studios.
