As the year draws to a close, come and connect with your local clinical society. Gain an introduction to PTSD screening and local referrals and hear from Dr Hilton Koppe, a Northern Rivers General Practitioner, turned patient, turned writer. As the author of One Curious Doctor, Dr Koppe will be sharing his own story of being diagnosed with PTSD.The Healthy North Coast Education Team will then share with you a snapshot of local continued professional development (CPD) needs before inviting you to provide input into the 2023 Healthy North Coast education calendar.Includes a buffet dinner and dessert.Get to know:<ul><li>The difference between stress and trauma</li><li>Trauma and mental health linkages</li><li>The presentation, risk factors and symptoms of PTSD</li><li>Screening for PTSD in primary care</li><li>Non-drug and medical interventions for the management of PTSD</li><li>Local referral options</li><li>The identified CPD needs for local clinicians</li><li>What&#x27;s on the 2023 Healthy North Coast calendar</li></ul>Information on each of the panel members discussing these components will be shared with you prior to the education. You’ll also be provided with a case-scenario worksheet to complete in groups. There will be plenty of time to ask questions of the panel and to get to know some of the local services working to support those with Acute Stress Disorder and PTSD.W﻿ho should attend? Primary Healthcare Professionals, including GP&#x27;s, practice nurses, psychologists, mental health workers, social workers &amp; health professionals working with people with PTSD.
