Solidarity is an annual conference to assist health care workers and students to promote a culture of life.
"Conscientious Objection in Abortion and Euthanasia for
Health Care Students and Workers."
Recent legislation passed in NSW has made abortion and voluntary assisted dying legal. Health care workers and institutions will be required to facilitate these procedures. Students and workers, however, have often chosen their course and position from a desire to promote life and not end it. This conference aims to provide guidance in how to navigate through the university and workplace for those with a conscientious objection to these practices.
Speakers include:
Dr Bernadette Tobin AO; MA, MEd, PhD. Director Plunkett Centre for Ethics, St Vincent’s Hospital.
Anna Walsh, B.Nurs (Hons)., LLB (Hons), LLM, M Bioethics, PhD (Cand). Lecturer UNDA. Lawyer/Academic.
The Hon. Damien Tudehope, BA/LLB, MLC. Minister for Finance, the Minister for Employee Relations, the Leader of the Government in the NSW Upper House.
