My Smart Garden is a free program to help you grow food, shelter your home from the sun and wind, create homes for local wildlife, use water wisely and recycle wastes.This program is for residents of Moonee Valley, Hobsons Bay, Maribyrnong, Brimbank, Wyndham, Stonnington, Yarra and Merri-bek Council areas. My Smart Garden

Learn how important soil health is for a productive garden and how you can improve any soil type

Learn how the geology of different areas in Melbourne impacts the chemistry and structure of your soil. This fascinating workshop by Adam Grubb from <a href="https://www.veryediblegardens.com.au/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Very Edible Gardens</a> will cover the science of soil in a super easy to understand and accessible way, how to protect and improve soil including challenging soil types for food growing, soil biodiversity, water management, using compost and mulch, and trouble shooting. This free workshop is proudly presented by <a href="https://www.morelandcommunitygardening.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"></a>the <a href="https://www.merri-bek.vic.gov.au/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">City of Merri-bek</a> No experience is necessary.Please note that this is an event for City of Moreland / Melbourne gardeners only. Gardening is very context specific and we will not be taking questions relating to other areas. If you live outside Melbourne, please contact your council to find out what free sustainable gardening events are available locally.If the event is booked out please join the waiting list to be notified if places become available or of future program rounds.
