Suitable for:

All Higher Research Degree candidates (PhD & Masters) who have attended Workshop Part 1: Foundations for developing an effective 3MT in this series or would like to join the 3MT development series to support them in preparing for their faculty heats.

If you missed attending Workshop Part 1, please see note below re pre-work and registration.

Workshop aim:

Part 2 in the 3MT development series, this workshop will build on the foundations of workshop Part 1, Foundations for developing an effective 3MT, It will focus on communication elements, both verbal and non-verbal that can have a real impact on how well you communicate your 3MT script. Tools to assist in managing nerves and preparing and planning for heats are also covered. Performance elements will be covered.

All participants will be filmed using their own device whilst presenting their draft 3MT in order to review their performance for self- reflection, plus written feedback from their peers.

Essential information: Pre-work:

1. In order to gain most from the workshop, there are preliminary tasks that will need to be completed & these will be sent in reminders closer to the date of the workshop.

2. For those who did not attend workshop Part 1 pre-work from both Part 1 and Part 2 will need to be completed before attending. This will give you the best opportunity to get the most out of this workshop and to be able to contribute actively and effectively in peer feedback. Please indicate this when you register.

3. It is expected that all participants also view the Webinar "3MT....is it for me?"held on 11 May to provide an overview of the 3MT competition, including rules, eligibility, and judging criteria, as well as the benefits and support available if you decide to enter.
