Learn the skills to create your own personalised, handmade journal.

This workshop will give you the skills to make your own book to record the delights and changes in your garden. Facilitated by Barb Adams, your hand crafted book will feature a hard cover, simple binding and pages suitable for note taking or drawing. You will learn how to create sewn in pockets for storing seeds, plant tags or other precious keepsakes.Barb will provide you with print blocks to decorate your pages. Creating a handmade book is a unique and creative way to record your garden ideas or keep a nature journal.All materials are provided, for a cost of $10 to be paid to the tutor on the day.Suitable for all skill levels. About Barb Adams: Barb is a visual artist who lives and works in North Box Hill. Artwork is a central joy in Barb’s life and she delights in sharing her work with others through teaching workshops. Barb is enthusiastic to help participants find their creative skills.What to wear / bring: Please wear comfortable clothes to work in. This is a hand-on practical workshop. Ticket price does not include materials, so please bring $10 cash to be paid to tutor for materials. Lunch: A vegetarian meal will be provided. If you have special dietary requirements or food allergies, you are encouraged to bring your own lunch. We can provide cutlery.Strathdon House and Orchard Precinct hosts educational programs around environmental sustainability, health and wellbeing. The precinct provides opportunities for the community to relax, make, learn, play in nature and celebrate the seasons. Strathdon House and Orchard Precinct is operated by Whitehorse City Council and is suitable for meetings, workshops, classes and private events.
