Move Beyond Coal is big, bold, new people-powered movement to solve Australia's biggest contribution to climate change. We're building on the successes and lessons of #StopAdani to move Australia beyond coal – starting with ending funding for coal expansion.Our mission is to stop new coal mines and expansions NOW, and phase out all coal mining by 2030, solving Australia’s biggest contribution to the global climate crisis.We are an Australian-based movement, made up of diverse people and communities, taking action in our own backyard to solve the global climate crisis by phasing out the most polluting coal export industry on Earth.We believe in the power of people to make transformative change, and we hold justice and solidarity at the centre of everything we do. We can only transform the unjust systems that caused the climate crisis by standing together with communities on the frontlines – starting with respecting the sovereignty of the First Nations people of this land.

Did you know that coal is the number one cause of climate change, and Australia is the world’s biggest exporter of coal pollution? Every day, Australia’s coal is fuelling worse climate chaos here at home, and around the world. But people power can change that.We can still protect a liveable world for communities and nature everywhere, but we must act now to stop new coal projects and phase out coal by 2030.Today, Australia faces the biggest coal expansion threat on the planet. Coal corporations plan to dig 69 dangerous new coal projects, the big banks are willing to fund them, and our government has no plans to stop them. Australia is at the centre of the world’s biggest climate problem, but we also have one of the biggest climate solutions within our reach – keeping coal in the ground. That’s where you come in.Introducing Move Beyond Coal!
