Join mural artist, Marcia McGuire, for a workshop that guides attendees through the design and painting of a collaborative canvas.

These school holidays join Western Australian mural artist, Marcia McGuire, for a family-friendly workshop creating a collaborative canvas. Attendees will work together to create their own stretched canvas that will contribute to a larger, collaborative artwork. Individual canvases can then be taken home as a momento. For ages 6+, limited tickets available.Collaborative Canvas Painting Workshop DetailsDate: Friday, 15 July 2022Time: 10am - 12pmWhere: MAARAKOOL, 140 Perth, 140 William St, Perth WA 6000 (opposite BamBamBoo, next to Roll’d) ---140 Perth launches “Stories That Resonate” with two new murals by talented West Australian artists, Kambarni and Marcia McGuire. The artists collaborated with community representatives during the development of their murals to create a powerful acknowledgment of Noongar culture within Perth’s pulsing city hub. Both artworks speak to the cultural richness of stories, memories and lived experiences of Aboriginal people – both speak of family, connection and love.Located in Railway Lane and Globe Lane, the murals are supported by MAARAKOOL (translation: with the hands) – a new creative space with an immersive and supportive art program showcasing Whadjuk Noongar storytelling. It will feature talks and tours, a co-creation mural and printmaking workshops. These sessions are designed for artists, creatives, young professionals and inner-city workers of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. Cbus Property, 140 and CBRE acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners of the land in Australia. We recognise the importance of Indigenous people in the identity of our country, their rich culture and languages, and their continuing connections to Country and community. We pay our respect to Elders, past, present and emerging, and extend that respect to all Indigenous people of these lands.
