<p>De-stress, de-frag and un-plug for 90mins using evidence-based practices – breathwork, mindfulness, meditation and relaxation upstairs @Elements Fitness, Armidale. </p><h3>This Class</h3><p>In this class, we go on a journey. The first part of the class is focused on gentle breathwork, meditation and mindfulness practices, you are then invited to work with the breath in a more dynamic way and the end of the class focuses on relaxation and rest. </p><p>Make a comfy nest, bring blankets, a cushion or pillow (and an eye pillow if you like!) and settle in!</p><p>In this class, you’ll be given tools to take back into your daily life. Experience different types of breathwork practices and learn how to use breathwork to modulate your nervous system. Some breath techniques energise and awaken the body, bringing focus and clarity, and some help to calm and soothe the nervous system and promote relaxation. </p><p>This is an ongoing class held monthly - please check out the dates for each month. It is suitable for all levels – complete beginners to advanced practitioners. </p>

<h3>Your Facilitator</h3><p>Bec Passey is a yoga and meditation teacher, breathworker and group facilitator. As the Director of Embody Wellbeing, she develops and facilitates programs, workshops, training and retreats, working with a range of tools including sound, breathwork, movement and cold water immersion. </p><p>Bec completed her first 200hr Yoga Teacher Training in 2006 with Radiant Light Yoga, has undertaken additional training through Power Yoga Canberra and Power Living Australia Yoga and is a level 1 iRest teacher. She now facilitates yoga teacher training and mentors yoga teachers. </p><p>She is passionate about the power of breathwork as a primary tool in one’s self care tool kit. Bec uses a range of different types of breathwork techniques in her work, and as part of her daily practices. </p>

<h3>Things to know</h3><p>Please arrive around 10 minutes early to set up and settle in – we commence on time. You can park in the car park on Naughten Ave and come through the main doors at Elements Fitness or also entry via 93 Rusden St and come upstairs. </p><p>It is better to not practice breathwork and meditation with a full stomach. If you need to, eat lightly up to 2hrs before the practice (noting that you don't want to necessarily be so hungry that you are distracted!). It’s best to avoid coffee beforehand (and that Sunday lunch wine) and be well hydrated.</p><p>Please bring a:</p><ul><li>cushion or pillow </li><li>water bottle </li><li>thick blanket or two – nice to have even as the weather gets warmer!</li><li>yoga mat (if you have one – we have spares)</li><li>eye mask (optional but nice to have)</li></ul><p>Wear warm, comfortable clothing that you can easily sit and lie down in, and have some layers plus warm socks.</p><p>Please note, one of the breathing practices we do has some contraindications which will be explained to you in the confirmation email and before the practice. If you have any of the conditions that are listed, there is an alternative breathing technique that you can do for this short part of the session. Please check with your health practitioner if you have any concerns. </p>
