The Learning Advisers at ANU Academic Skills work with students to develop the key academic skills and communication strategies that are foundational to all academic activity. We work with students from first year undergraduate to final year Phd, by conducting workshops, one to one appointments and a variety of self help online resources.

Learn how to plan and structure an article, and write effectively!

How do you go about writing a journal article? In this workshop we cover how to plan and structure an article, and how to write effectively to communicate an argument. We draw on sample articles from relevant fields to demonstrate journal article writing principles. We provide tips for crafting an effective abstract that conveys essential information about your research in a way that prompts reader interest. Please find an article from a journal that you would like to publish in, and bring it to the workshop.Please note that this workshop is for ANU students only. Academic Skills will send a Zoom link to your student account and a reminder on the day. This workshop is part of the Science, Health and Medicine Career development Framework program and can be counted as a valid activity.
