Peace Run Records is proud to put on our second Nambour&#x27;s Got Soul Event feat. Emily Rose and the Wild Things who are currently on tour. This event is a showcase of some of the best Soul inspired Australian artists and we encourage you to come along and discover some great new soul bands! We return to the Black Box Theatre, for another fantastic live music event. Tickets are $25+bf. Doors open 6.30pm and show starts 7.15pm. Licensed bar available thanks to The Black Box.ABOUT THE ARTISTSEMILY ROSE AND THE WILD THINGSIn a world which dances between jazz, folk, songwriter and experimental, one finds lyrics of weight and beauty, underpinned by profound but constantly fresh acoustic and electric worlds. Headed by Sydney Songstress and keys player Emily-Rose Sarkova, her full band will be presenting songs from their debut album ‘Upon These Open Skins’, which has been compared to sounds as diverse as Joni Mitchell, Hiatus Kaiyote, Sam Amidon and Dirty Projectors. From performing classical piano in French cathedrals, klezmer accordion across Poland, tango in Buenos Aires and funk keyboards and synths at the infamous Pineapple Lounge, Woodfordia, there isn’t much music Emily-Rose hasn’t explored. You may know her from ARIA nominated group Chaika, soft songwriting duo Little Clouds or improvising solo piano as ‘Slow Streams’.Photo by Miki Sakai

THE DAWN LIGHT (Duo) - Support act on at 7.15pmAngela Newcomb currently works as a singer/songwriter performing original material in venues around Australia with her new original act The Dawn Light. She also works as a session vocalist for many highly acclaimed Australian artists. Angela has a Bachelor of Education majoring in Primary Music Education from Griffith University. She also completed 2 years of Bachelor of Arts and International Business Studies at Griffith University.Angela’s original music covers many genres, namely Soul, Jazz, Latin, R&amp;B, Blues and Folk. Influenced by musical greats like Astrud Gilberto, Ella Fitzgerald, Eva Cassidy, Erykah Badu, Stevie Wonder, Emily King and Allen Stone, her music is elegant, sophisticated and soulful. She will be performing with Brodie Graham on electric guitar for this special support.
