He grew up on the northern boundaries of the Kosciuszko National Park and still skis over 100 days a year. Adventure travel and skiing have always been a large part of his life, including sailing across the Atlantic, driving a Kombi through Africa, and skiing in many locations in North America and Japan. Since 2012 he’s been guiding backcountry tours in Australia and Japan. Avalanche awareness and backcountry safety are an integral part of guiding and it was an obvious progression for him to train with Avalanche Canada as an instructor.Owen Lansbury (MSC) loves sharing his own stoke for the mountains, whether it’s taking guests into the Thredbo backcountry or being open with his time and knowledge off the slopes. Starting life as a skier with a 20 year diversion into snowboarding, he’s been back on planks in the backcountry for the past decade spending most spare moments hunting snow at home and abroad. His parallel life in digital media and working with other non-profits means he brings a mix of marketing and financial skills to help MSC fund its operations and extend its services within the local backcountry community.Lewis Foster (Arc’teryx Ambassador) is a mountain guide, climber, splitboarder and hiker, who knows the Australian Alps like few others. The Thredbo native spends his days as Head Guide for K7 Adventures, passing on hard-earnt skills developed in Chamonix and a lifetime of exploits in the Snowy Mountains. In his spare time, he can be found on remote peaks, stringing together high lines in search of yet another way to experience the mountains.Justin Robinson is a committed adventurer, making his first ski touring exploits into the Australian backcountry in the mid nineties. A couple of winter seasons spent in Jackson Hole many decades ago, and numerous ski mountaineering trips to the New Zealand Southern Alps, Canada, USA and Japan have helped forge a passion to explore mountain areas less travelled. Most recently Justin was part of an expedition to explore, climb and ski the remote east coast of Greenland.Craig Brokensha is a Swellnet weather forecaster and photographer as well as keen backcountry tourer. With a background in oceanography and meteorology, both complement his relentless chase for perfect surf and bottomless powder.
