About this event

  • 2 days 8 hours

Over three days, you will use traditional hand tools and steam-bending methods to make your own drum. You will learn about timber species and selection, shaping the main drum shell, hand-hammering zills (cymbals), skin application and much more.

At the end of the workshop, you will take your finished instrument home with you.

Please note: Natural skins will be used on these drums.

Age: Adult 18+ and Teen 15+ if accompanied by a parent or guardian also participating in the workshop

Skill Level: No previous experience required

Inclusions: All instruction, tools and materials provided

Bring: Snacks, lunch, water, notepad and pen. An open mind.

Clothing Guidelines: Workshop appropriate - closed toe shoes, hair tied back, no hanging jewellery, no baggy or flowing clothing.
